Photography Competition – Winner of the April entries takes two!

Posted on Fri June 3, 2016.

Congratulations to Braeme Holland for walking away with two prizes this month!  The stunning image above has won him both the:

Monthly Winner – Public Favourite Most Likes on Facebook
– R500 cash and of course the all-important bragging rights that is part and parcel of being a winner.

Bi-monthly Winner – Selected by Panel of Judges
– Two-night all-inclusive stay at Indlovu River Lodge with access to our photography hides.
The winning photograph will also come into contention for the Grand Prize.

Here is some feedback from our panel of judges on Braeme’s photograph:

A few things are critical in making a striking image. Light, composition, subject matter, behavior – and not to mention a little bit of light.  I find this a very pleasing image with the soft light, and both the horizontal and vertical symmetry in the image.  Another aspect is the sense of place where the entire zebra herd is beautifully captured in one scene. The luck comes in with the zebra third from the right, lit up by a stray ray of sunlight which draws the viewer’s  eye to it and makes it stand out slightly from the rest.
