Photo of the week – Nyalas at the waterhole
This beautiful photo was captured from the sunken, underground animal hide at Indlovu River Lodge. Our guest Nettie is an amateur photographer, who was thrilled with the experience and the product of her time in the hide!
The nyalas tend to be shy animals, but once they got used to the hides, our guests were able to capture these beautifully striped animals at close range. The stripes on their backs play an important role in their camouflage in the bushveld, and adds interesting patterns to a photograph.

It was such a pleasure hosting this years competition winner Michiel Duvenhage and his wife Mart-Mari. This is what they had to say about their experience.
At Indlovu River Lodge our food is prepared with care by our dedicated staff. We like giving our guests a warm, local experience by making traditional South African food, but sometimes we add a nice European twist to make our foreign guests feel more at home.
